If your child
is in 2nd grade through 5th grade and has never received a Bible from this church, we would like to
present them with their very own Bible during worship. We already have a partial list of children to receive Bibles but it
is not complete. Please verify with your child's Sunday School teacher or call the church office to make sure
your child is on the list to receive a Bible that Sunday. In addition...
Junior Disciples Class
Children receiving a Bible from our church will be required to participate in our "Junior
Disciples" class. This class will be taught by Pastor John and will run for 3 weeks following Sunday worship during the
coffee hour from 11:30 - 12:00 noon in the 3rd - 4th grade Sunday School classroom. This class will
go over Bible basics and include homework assignments requiring the children to look up and read various Bible passages. Our
first "Bible study" will be on the meaning of Communion as these children are now old enough to celebrate communion
with us regularly. And then...
Recognition
of Junior Disciples
on Communion Sunday
February 5, 2012
On Communion Sunday in February we will recognize our new "junior
disciples". There Bibles will official become their's to keep and they will participate with us in communion in
a special way. Many like to consider this "first communon".
